Theme for the 2020 Contest

Poems for the MLK, Jr. Poetry Contest are based around a yearly theme: a quote by the civil rights leader himself.

This year, students wrote and submitted poems around this quote by King:

"Love yourself, and that means rational and healthy self-interest…That’s the length of life. Then follow that: Love your neighbor as you love yourself … That’s the breadth of life."
