Dee Sabol Bio

Dee Sabol stepped into the position of Diversity Council Executive Director in December of 2015. Although Colorado Springs was her home for many years, she is originally from Minnesota.

While in Colorado Springs, she served for 12 years as the Community Engagement and Outreach Officer at the Pikes Peak Library District.  While in that position, she launched the library’s foundation, as well as the Tim Gill Center for Public Media, which was a partnership between the library, Rocky Mountain PBS, and local colleges.

Community involvement is a priority for Dee.  In Colorado Springs she served on the Executive Committee of the Colorado Springs Diversity Forum, the Women’s Foundation of Colorado’s Regional Steering Committee, the Pikes Peak United Way’s Cradle to Career Education Council, and the Colorado Department of Education’s Special Education Advisory Committee, as well as many other community leadership positions.  She also co-founded the Pikes Peak Women’s Coalition.

Her community leadership earned her many awards including the Karen A. Patterson Award for Community and Organizational Change from Regis University, and the Woman of Influence Award from the Colorado Springs Business Journal.

Dee holds a Master’s degree in Nonprofit Management from Regis University, Denver.
