Racism Still Exists in Community
Marita Heller
December 3, 2004
I congratulate the Post-Bulletin for publishing
the story "Holiday glow gets cut." We have to recognize
that racism exists in our community before we are motivated to work
against it.
Because I do not know any of the parties
involved, I, like the Staffords, have to assume that race was a
factor in their being singled out. As a citizen of Rochester, I
deeply regret that they were treated badly.
It encourages me--and I hope others--to
support the efforts of the Rochester Diversity Council to overcome
racism in our community.
