Tribute Dinner for Thompson set for January 12

A dinner in honor of George Thompson, who will retire as executive director of the Diversity Council later this month, will be Jan. 12.

The event, "Passing the Torch: A Tribute to George Thompson," will be from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Kahler Grand Hotel.

The Diversity Council will recognize Thompson's philosophy by creating the George B. Thompson Catalyst Fund. Money raised for the Catalyst Fund will support staff development, promote collaborative projects, and develop new education programs.

At the dinner, the Diversity Council will host the "Experience Diversity" silent auction; proceeds will go to the George B. Thompson Catalyst Fund.

Tickets for the dinner are $50 per person. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Diversity Council. Tickets are available at the Diversity Council by calling (507) 282-9951 or by email at info@diversitycouncil.org.
