Diversity Council receives grant
September 8 , 2006
The Diversity Council in Rochester has
received a $1,000 grant from Midwest Wireless' Community Caring
Program. The Diversity Council works to eliminate prejudice through
community programs for children in grades K-12 and adults. Prejudice
Reduction Workshops, the Diversity Council's largest program, reached
nearly18,000 area students last school year. The workshops are
a series of 13 age-appropriate programs. Adult programs explore
topics like wealth, power and privilege, and discuss ways in which
businesses can reap the benefits of a diverse work force.
