2008 Corporate Campaign
Kicks Off
The Diversity Council’s
annual corporate campaign kicked off this week as Board members,
staff, and volunteers began contacting previous corporate members,
asking them to renew their support.
Corporate membership has been a vital
part of the Diversity Council’s
work since our beginning in 1989, providing about 25% of our annual
income. We believe the benefits also flow in both directions.
Our
corporate members are eligible for free diversity training. Members
giving $500 or more also receive exclusive access to our online
Diversity Toolkit, which provides demographic research, reference
materials, tip sheets, and diversity training activities.
In addition
to these more tangible benefits, corporate membership in the Diversity
Council also sends a public message that your company values the
business of ALL people—our members are recognized in the
Post-Bulletin, as well as in our annual report and on our website.
This year our corporate members are
more vital than ever as the Diversity Council is faced with numerous
opportunities for new outreach—from the Town
Meeting Initiative to assisting with
the school districts 5-year-plan to close the achievement gap,
from a media campaign spreading our message of respect to after
school programming for at risk kids. The support of local
businesses makes a BIG difference to the work we are able to do!
